The published range is not a promise of a particular starting rate. Each offer states the rate, role, and review factors in writing.
Experience, active qualifications, audition, and the assigned class format set the documented starting rate.
Reliability, client demand and retention, teaching quality, and added qualifications inform rate reviews.
Mentoring, programming, or operating responsibility is discussed and documented separately before the work changes.
The teaching fit
The physical opening planning target is one to two weeks before halloween 2026, not a fixed date. Village action, permits, plan revisions, buildout, inspections, equipment, and instructor coverage determine the final schedule.
Required
Recognized training in at least one format: reformer, mat Pilates, or yoga
Preferred
Additional apparatus, prenatal, anatomy, or CPR/AED education
The standard
Precise cueing, thoughtful corrections, calm hospitality
The pay rule
Your class rate is set by your tier: $40, $55, or $75 a class. Teach to more than five people and you earn an extra $4 a head. No class ever pays less than $21.25, however few people show. Pay is trued up every week. You are hired W-2, not as a contractor — comp, disability, and paid family leave are carried by SOFI, and your rate is put in writing on Form LS 57 at hire. You get 40 paid sick hours a year.

Where you teach
Reformer room
Ten reformers: six standard, four half-tower. Never more than ten.
Mat room
Eight plus you. Hatha and vinyasa, ISHTA lineage. Never hot.
The weekly load
| Period | Reformer room, classes | Teachers | Each | Mat room, classes | Teachers | Each |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| October | 38 | 3 Pilates | 12–13 | 8 | 2 | 4 |
| December | 46 | 3 Pilates | 15 | 10 | 2 | 5 |
| From January | 53 | 4 Pilates | 13 | 10 | 2 | 5 |
No teacher reaches the studio's ceiling of 17 classes or 18.4 paid hours a week in either period. The fourth Pilates instructor is needed by January, not at opening.
The opening roster
SOFI is hiring 3 Pilates instructors for the reformer room and 2 teachers for the mat room at opening. A fourth Pilates instructor joins from January.
The first 100 days, then the program
The first 100 days are probation, for everyone. Then a program with tenure — an education fund and a seed that grows with time here. Amounts and vesting are Hamid's to set; no figure is stated. The role is non-exclusive — teach elsewhere. The path is T1 → T2 → T3.

Your application status
“Application received” means your information reached SOFI for private review.
Qualification review, contact, audition, and a hiring decision are separate steps. SOFI will communicate any later status privately through the contact information you provided; there is no public email-lookup page that could expose candidate information.
An application is the start of a conversation. It does not guarantee contact, an audition, an offer, a particular class assignment, or a response date.
